NAIOP Categories of Membership

Principal Full Member

The first individual employed by an organization whose primary business is development, ownership, management of or investment in industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate.

Principal Affiliate Member

The second or third individual employed by the Principal firm, whose primary business is development, ownership, management of or investment in industrial, office mixed-use or related commercial real estate.

 

Associate Full Member

The first individual employed by a company or organization who provides products or services to the industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate firm who belong to the same chapter.

 

Associate Affiliate Member

The second or third individual employed by the Associate firm, who provides products or services to the industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate firm who belong to the same chapter.

 

NAIOP Developing Leaders

An Individual involved as a developer, owner, investor, asset manager or those providing services in commercial real estate who is 35 years or younger when applying for membership. NAIOP Developing Leaders must provide proof of age. A clear copy of the applicant's government issued identification (driver's license, birth certificate, or passport) must be submitted with the membership application. Membership will not be activated until NAIOP receives the required documentation. NAIOP Developing Leaders membership is excluded from qualifying a company for a chapter-based corporate membership.FOR EXAMPLE: ABC Real Estate has one Full member and one Affiliate member. If a third person joins from ABC Real Estate as a "NAIOP Developing Leaders" member, this does not qualify the fourth person from ABC Real Estate to be added at the corporate affiliate rate.

 

Chapter-Based Corporate Membership

The fourth or subsequent individual employed by the Associate or Principal firm, who all belong to the same chapter. NAIOP New Jersey offers exclusive benefits for Corporate Members.

Full Public Official
 
                                              
Any individual employed by a local, state or federal government or a non-profit organization.

Affiliate Public Official                                           The second or subsequent person from the same organization joining the same chapter as the Full Public Official.

Academician                                                       Any full-time professor who is not otherwise employed in the industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate industry. A copy of a current college or university identification card verifying employment must be provided. Applicant must be a full-time employee, as defined by his/her university. Applicant must not be employed full-time by a commercial real estate or related firm. Individuals employed on a part-time or temporary basis (temporary or limited employment, etc.) may be considered eligible.

Student                                                               Any full-time student who is not otherwise employed in the industrial, office, mixed-use or related commercial real estate industry. NAIOP Student members must meet the following requirements. Proof of full time student status must be received before membership can be confirmed. Otherwise, the applicant will remain ineligible for membership in the Student category and any dues paid shall be refunded. A copy of a current student identification card and class schedule should be provided as proof. Applicant must be a full-time student, as defined by his/her university. Applicant must not be employed full-time by a commercial real estate or related firm. Individuals employed on a part-time or temporary basis (internship, temporary or limited employment, etc.) may be considered eligible. Following graduation, a Student will no longer be able to renew his/her membership through the Student membership program.
