Education Coordinator, NAIOP - Commercial Real Estate Development Association

Hours:  15/wk flexible hours

NAIOP New Jersey Chapter is a New Brunswick-based non-profit trade association for developers, owners and investors in commercial and mixed-use real estate.  We are seeking a dynamic, personable and mature individual to plan and coordinate our continuing education program for real estate professionals.  This position offers the opportunity to meet decision makers in the private, non-profit and public sectors of real estate and economic development.

The ideal candidate is an organized and mature self-starter who is attentive to detail, able to keep accurate records, and possesses excellent written, verbal and telephone communication skills.

Primary role is to manage our CEU (continuing education unit) program covering a range of industry disciplines to meet the needs of our diverse membership, work with a committee to develop educational seminars, and where possible attend seminars to ensure that attendance records are accurate and program requirements are met.

We are looking for someone to start in late May and continue through the academic year.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • ·         Write seminar curricula and complete applications for course accreditation
  • ·         Identify appropriate topics and presenters
  • ·         Maintain database for tracking CEU records
  • ·         Serve as resource for member questions about CEUs
  • ·         Attend seminars and other association events
  • ·         Ensure compliance with state regulations and enforce attendance policies
  • ·         Publicize CEU program to members and prospective members
  • ·         Guide and oversee CEU Task Force
  • ·         Answer phones and assist staff with event planning
  • ·         Serve as student liaison

Requirements/Skills:

  • ·         Current graduate student in urban planning, public policy, economics, business, or related field
  • ·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • ·         Phone skills and ability to interact with senior executives are a must
  • ·         Knowledge of economic development and environmental policies pertinent to real estate is a plus
