March 22: Legislative Leaders to Headline NAIOP NJ’s Public Policy Symposium

Top Policymakers will Discuss Balancing Competing Priorities in Today’s Economic Climate

EDISON, N.J. (March 2, 2023) – New Jersey’s legislative leadership and top policymakers will discuss their priorities and plans for making New Jersey more business-friendly, sustainable and prosperous during NAIOP New Jersey’s highly anticipated 2023 Public Policy Symposium. The program on Wednesday, March 22, will take place at the Northeast Carpenters Apprentice Training Center in Edison, from 9 to 11 a.m.

NAIOP NJ President Mark Shearer and CEO Mike McGuinness will lead a conversation on critical industry issues with the state’s key legislative decision-makers including:

  • Senate President Nicholas Scutari,
  • Assembly Budget Chair Eliana Pintor Marin,
  • Senate Minority Leader Steven Oroho, and
  • Assembly Minority Leader John DiMaio.

“We can’t keep doing business as usual today,” McGuinness noted. “Escalating costs, diminishing resources, labor shortages, regulatory overload and a changing climate all must be factored into how we make decisions and operate, or we’ll become extinct.”

The program’s second segment will feature an interactive panel discussion focused on the economic realities of doing business today. Advance Realty Investors’ Principal Peter J. Cocoziello, Jr., will moderate the conversation with:

  • Shawn M. LaTourette, commissioner, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection,
  • Karen Reif, PSE&G’s vice president of Renewables and Energy Solutions, and
  • Maplewood Township Mayor Dean Dafis.

The program includes a continental breakfast and networking from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. To register, visit naiopnj.org/event-5151743.
