Retail is changing dramatically: malls, town centers and urban shopping districts seek to attract people with food, fitness and fun; the loss of large-space tenants (JC Penny, Sears) is opening up opportunities for ecommerce fulfillment centers and other creative uses. Developers and property owners are struggling to determine the right mix of retailers, store sizes and formats to compete in today’s omnichannel retail world. Our speakers will discuss how experiential retail is impacting commercial real estate development and opportunities for investors:

  • Market Update & Trends
  • How does retail survive the "Amazon Effect"?
  • Growing pains for non-traditional tenants/uses.
  • Food Halls vs. Food Courts.
  • Transformations by Triple F (Food, Fitness & Fun).
  • Repositioning retail for mixed-use and experiential development.
  • Trends in financing by domestic and foreign investors.

Clark Machemer (Rockefeller Group) will lead the interactive discussion with

  • Herbert Eilberg, Chief Investment Officer, Urban Edge Properties
  • Nancy Erickson, Executive Managing Director, Colliers International
  • Mark Pottschmidt, Co-Founder, Stanbery Development
  • Brian Whitmer, Senior Director Metropolitan Area Capital Markets Group, Cushman & Wakefield

Registration/Networking Cocktail Reception begins at 5:00 PM (Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe, Teaneck) followed by dinner & the program.

Event Sponsors: Prologis, Elberon Development Group, NAI James E. Hanson and Colliers International.
