About the Award and the Honoree

Meryl A. G. Gonchar is a member and co-chair of the Sills Cummis & Gross Land Use Practice Group where her practice encompasses all aspects of land use, redevelopment and related litigation. She is involved with many of the most transformational redevelopment projects in the State. Meryl is a leader in numerous real estate industry organizations having served as State president of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW NJ), as a Vice President and, currently, a Board member, of NAIOP New Jersey and as a Board member of the New Jersey Builders Association. She also served as a member of the Board of the Women in the Profession section and as chair of the Board of the Land Use section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and on the Board of the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Meryl, an alumna of Rutgers School of Law - Newark and Rutgers College, is a frequent guest lecturer at the Rutgers Graduate School of Business and Rutgers Business School on the topics of real estate and land development. She also served on the Advisory Board of the Rutgers Business School, Center for Real Estate, and as an instructor for real estate law and development courses at the Kislak Real Estate Institute at Monmouth University.
